This June, Little M and I are going wild! We have signed up to The Wildlife Trusts #30dayswild to encourage us to do a few new things, learn a little about nature and rope in a few friends to focus on our local wildlife.
Given that Little M currently has an abject fear of microscopic ants and spiders, this is also the perfect opportunity to overcome both our fears (Mrs M collects and releases all the spiders in our house… in her hands!!).
Almost 20,000 people have signed up with the objective to ‘feel happier, healthier and more connected to nature by doing something wild every day for thirty days this June.’
We have received our fabulous ’30 Days Wild’ pack from the Wildlife Trust and are planning our activities and our ‘Random Acts of Wildlife’!
We are fortunate to live in Yorkshire where there is gorgeous countryside close to home however, it is easy to take it all for granted. There are so many places nearby that we haven’t been too, including a meadow managed by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust in our village!
I am hopeful that now we have committed to #30dayswild we shall prioritise exploration and investigate the garden and a few new nature spots around Leeds.
If you have any suggestions of how we can fill our 30 days with original toddler-friendly wildlife activities – please let me know!
