What a wonderfully educational and fascinating place the Yorkshire Military Air Museum really is. Little M like myself was intrigued and engaged by the huge aeroplanes and various displays.
At the 1-2 age bracket we are currently enjoying, the full benefits of the museum are not going to be realised for the price, however, Little M was definitely mesmerised by the giant flying machines and the military memorabilia. I can't wait until he has a history project at School where we can plan a visit and bring history to life!
The vehicle hardware is impressive and easy to discuss with a toddler and also an adult, making this one of the venues i can see full family generations all venturing out to and each enjoying a different experience of the same scenario.
The highlight was the two gentlemen in a hut communicating with similar enthusiasts in Europe via morse code. They took the time to answer my questions and show Little M how things work.
On site, there was also a very reasonably priced cafe with plenty of space and a small gift shop with a range of toys and items for sale.
We also took a short walk to the memorial garden for a quiet moment which reminded me of the importance of remembering the history of the World Wars and educating him on the contribution of the Military.
