From early November Leeds Millennium Square is transformed into a traditional Christkindelmarkt (German Market) with over 40 stalls selling a range of gifts, foods and drink.
Being a regular visitor before Little M was born, we were aware enough to know that leaving the pram/pushchair at home would increase the pleasure of all involved. We also selected a particularly miserable windy day and arrived thirty minutes before it opened.

It might sound a little Grinch-like however, there are events worth challenging your parenting skills and for me, the German Market in Leeds isn't big or rewarding enough to test those boundaries.
Arriving early enabled Little M to get a good view of the stalls and the 'traditional' items on sale. We could easily move around, but still enjoy the atmosphere as the market became busier as the morning went on. With Gramps with us, we also sampled some Churros and enjoyed a spin round on the musical horse carousel.
The highlight, as usual, was the food. Settling down at around noon, we found a table in the smallest of the warm, log fired, eateries and enjoyed a German Cheese Sausage and a beer before heading home before 1 pm for naptime.
