Days Out In Yorkshire – October 2017

Welcome to our monthly roundup of key Yorkshire Toddler Events & Family Days Out for October.

As the nights get darker and the leaves start to turn, it is a fantastic month to be out and about and enjoy the changing season, particularly with some major events such as Leeds Light Night and Halloween Pumpkin Picking across Yorkshire.

Leeds Light Night

Light Night Leeds is an annual free multi-arts and light festival which takes over Leeds City Centre.

Little Lotherton

The Big Draw – See how creative your little ones are on giant paper!

Winter Wildlife
East Coast Bempton Cliffs | Monday 9th 6:30 pm
Take your toddlers to explore the winter wildlife and learn about the local animals.

Temple Newsam – Jurassic Kingdom Tour
Colton | Saturday 13th – 29th 10am – 6pm | Website
October sees the Jurassic Kingdom tour make its way to Yorkshire. It stops off in Leeds on the 13th and carries on through to the 29th, open daily.

The Tetley – Leeds Dads Meetup
LEeds | Sunday 15th 2pm – 4pm | Website
It’s a playgroup for dads and pre-school kids, but a couple of older siblings sneak in too.

Farmer Copleys – Pumpkin Festival (Review)

With 120,000 pumpkin plants, we have had a great time at Farmer Copleys Pumpkin Festival which runs throughout October

Diggerland – A Day Of Fun With Little Tikes Toys
Castleford | Saturday 21st 10am – 5pm | Website
Go to the Diggerland Yorkshire park and your kids can have fun with loads of Little Tikes toys. They get to try out new and existing toys, including some remote control diggers.

The Deep – Digi:Sea
Hull | Saturday 21st 8am | Website
Interactive art workshop that’s perfect for young children.

Croft – British Rally Cross
Dalton | Saturday & Sunday | Under 15s Free | Website
British Rallycross heads to Croft for more high speed sideways action

Lotherton Hall – Scarecrow Trail
Aberford | 21 October – 5 November | Website
Beware: we aim to scare! Follow the clues around the house and estate to find all of the super spooky scarecrows.

Leeds Model Railway Exhibition (Review)

If your toddler has an interest in trains, this is a fascinating exhibition of model railways.

Cannon Hall Farm – Pumpkin Festival
Barnsley | All Week Long
This pumpkin festival is an annual treat for all toddlers and young children.

Halloween Spooktacular

The last weekend in October is perfect to take your kids to a Halloween themed day out. Under 2s are free too, which is always a nice bonus for parents!

York – Trick or Treat Halloween Walking Tours
York | Monday 23rd October 10am | Website
Kids can dress up in their Halloween costumes for this cool tour around York

Kirstall Abby Deli Market
Leeds | Saturday 28th & 29th October 12pm-3pm | Website
Over 40 unique stalls of hand-made crafts and local produce from across Yorkshire.
