Welcome to our monthly roundup of key Yorkshire Toddler Events & Family Days Out for December.

Christmas is just around the corner and with it comes the new year. We have a total of five weekends worth of activities for you to pick from this month. The festive season is just getting started, so look out for these wonderful events this month.

Leeds Christkindelmarkt (Review)

Fancy an authentic German Christmas event? Come down to the Leeds Christkindelmarkt, one of the largest and most exciting German Christmas markets in the UK.

Magical Lantern Festival Yorkshire (Review)

If you want a spectacular end to 2017 you should give the Magical Lantern Festival a try. It’s a Chinese-themed Christmas festival with food, drink and plenty of wonderful sights.

Week 1 – Sat 2nd & Sun 3rd

Selby Christmas Lights Switch On and Christmas Market

There will be a Christmas market followed by the mayor switching on the lights for the town’s Christmas decorations. There will be local schools, choirs and bands in addition to many Christmas stalls.

25th Victorian Christmas Market, Kelham Island Museum

Over 120 market stalls, plenty of family entertainment and festivities with free admission for children under 16. Lots to keep you and your family busy for the first weekend of December.

Grassington Dickensian Festival

The ever-popular Dickensian Festival will take place again starting on the 2nd of December and will run until the 10th. Lots of outdoor entertainment and festive celebrations with a Victorian flair.

Week 2 – Sat 9th & Sun 10th

A Winter Wonderland Christmas Fair at Tennants Garden Rooms

The 9th of Saturday will be the last day you can catch this exciting winter wonderland. It’s the ideal place to kickstart your Christmas holidays with festivities and shopping. Entry is free and so is parking, making it a convenient event to visit.

Beverley Festival of Christmas

Every year on the second Sunday of December, Beverley town centre is magically transformed into a Christmas shopping wonderland. More than 120 stalls will sate your shopping needs and there are plenty of mince pies and cups hot chocolate to feast on with your kids.

St Nicholas Fair

Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th will be the last weekend to catch the magical St Nicholas fair, a festive event that oozes with Christmas spirit.

Christmas at Castle Howard: Angels on High

The Magic Christmas Garden here is a trove full of magical experiences for the kids. With beautiful architecture and inspired decorations, this is a spectacular Christmas event that you don’t want to miss.

Looking to pick up some last minute Christmas gifts? Head on over to the Ampleforth Christmas Market where you can visit Mrs Claus and her elves and experience some festive activities for Children.

Jack & the Beanstalk, York Theatre Royal

The ever-popular Jack & the Beanstalk panto will be showing at the York Theatre Royal all the way until February, so catch it with your kids during the holidays before it disappears!

Mince Pie Steam Specials (Photographs)

After the kahos of Christmas relax on one of our Mince Pie Specials with free mince pies and amazing Christmas displays, real coal fires and gas lights, creating a magical glow as your train rolls in.
